Overall assessment of Rovinj -

We visited Croatia in 2018 and have always said it was our favorite country, so it was nice to visit again (and fact check ourselves now that we have traveled a lot more) and also see a part of the country we hadn’t previously visited. We still love Croatia, but it would probably rank among a group of  favorites rather than being the favorite. It has definitely been discovered and is more touristy and way more expensive than when we went in 2018. But it is still safe and pretty with lots of beautiful coastline and walled towns. Rovinj is worth a short stop if you are doing a road trip through the area. The town is great with so many winding cobble stone streets and beautiful views, but aside from one church, some beaches, good shopping, and boat excursions, there aren’t any other real “must see” attractions. Having a car was nice so we could visit some other towns. And there are some good wineries in the surrounding area as well.
