Overall assessment of Trieste –

Trieste is a really nice town (small city). It was bigger and busier than we expected, but still really nice. It’s safe with good restaurants and pretty views of the sea. We loved taking the ferry to the Miramare Castle, and our day trip north to visit some small medieval towns and vineyards across the border into Slovenia was a highlight. If you’re in the area, it’s worth a couple days.
