Kuang Si Waterfalls

02/18/2026

One day we took the public bus about 20 miles south of the city to see Kuang Si Waterfall (also known as Tat Kuang Si). We arrived at the “bus station” (more like a parking lot with a shack) so we would be sure to get a seat on the “bus”. When the bus arrived, there was a mad rush to get on. I got a proper seat, but Grady didn’t. But no worries, they had a bunch of tiny plastic stools that were crammed in every available space to sit on! And off we went on bumpy, hilly, washed out roads… so safe! I wish I had gotten a picture of Grady holding on for dear life perched on his tiny plastic stool beneath the “fasten your seatbelt sign”!

We arrived at the park with no visible injuries and headed in. It was still very early, so it wasn’t at all crowded! The waterfalls and lakes were gorgeous. They almost reminded me of a VERY tiny version of Plitvice in Croatia (which are arguably the most beautiful lakes/waterfalls we have EVER seen!).

Next we hauled our ever expanding butts up 600 stairs to check out a nice look out area and a cafe perched high up in a gigantic tree.
