Overall assessment of Segovia

We loved Segovia! We would highly recommend a visit if traveling Spain. It is charming, walkable, safe and inexpensive. There are several worthwhile attractions including the aqueduct, cathedral, and Alcazar. There are also lots of really good restaurants and some good shopping.

Most people do Segovia as a day trip from Madrid, but since we prefer smaller towns over big cities, we did just the opposite. And it was perfect for us. We loved having all the free time in the world to wander every nook and cranny of Segovia. But at the end of our two week stay, we were ready to move on. If planning a visit, you can see all the highlights in a day trip, but I would recommend giving Segovia a few days to really enjoy the vibe. And try to include a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday overnight so you can see the belltower at night.
