Overall assessment of Antalya

I admittedly didn’t have high expectations for Turkey. I am not sure why, people have told me Turkey is amazing, but somehow I think I got it in my head that it would be similar to Morocco (which we didn’t care for). It’s not at all like Morocco… it’s definitely amazing. The people are super nice, Antalya is very safe, the history is beyond belief, and (after coming from Georgia), it felt pretty civilized (decent roads, traffic laws, infrastructure, etc.). Antalya was a great place to start our Turkey adventure because it is a reasonable size city (not overwhelming like I assume Istanbul will be) and has a gorgeous coastal vibe and amazing weather. We only had five days here and I regret not staying longer. But we get to return for a day trip in March when we do our cruise from Athens with Erin and Colleen. I can’t wait!

I think more of the coastal towns of Turkey will be on some future travel itinerary!
