Stonehenge is a short drive outside of Salisbury (about 15-20 min) and is amazing. I admittedly expected it to be over-rated, but it isn’t. It’s definitely worth seeing! That said, it is pricey – 30 pounds per person (about $41.00). If you are cheap, you can actually see it for free! But you have to be willing to walk (rather than take the shuttle)! Just walk past the ticket counter into the complex (it is open to anyone), scan the QR code for the info that you can listen to over your phone and walk the 1.5 mile out to the stone circle. There is a nice path and many people walking it. When you arrive, there is a fence that allows ticket holders a closer view (but no one can go among the stones or touch them). We saw quite a few people stay on the “non-ticket holder” side of the fence. They only got to see it from one angle rather than walk all the way around, but still had a great view. The thing is freaking enormous!
