Overall assessment of Goreme

This is an easy one… everyone should visit Cappadocia!! It is incredible and simply a must see. There are a few towns to choose from to base yourself in Cappadocia. We really liked Goreme. It was walkable, safe, and beautiful. We stayed in an awesome cave hotel, ate at some incredible restaurants and enjoyed magnificent sunsets. We were there in mid-October which was pretty ideal. Gorgeous and sunny during the day, but when the sun went down, it got cold fast! Maybe about a month earlier would be better. A 4-5 day stay is plenty.
